Job Description
Reporting to: Upholstery Production Manager
As a forward-thinking company with ambitious plans for the future, we are looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals to join our team, helping us grow and evolve together.
Due to our continued growth, we require an experienced Upholsterer to join our existing upholstery team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working Hours:Monday - Thursday 7am - 4.30pm
Friday 7am - 11.00am
- To Upholster various items of furniture from the frame up to finished items.
- Use a variety of tools such as staple guns & drills, in addition to hand tools to manufacture a wide range of furniture.
- Read and follow upholstery specifications, drawings, and production instructions.
- Repair or re upholster existing furniture when required.
- To complete work to a high-quality standard, whilst meeting deadlines.
- To work with the production team to achieve the production schedule.
- To observe Health and Safety regulations, being careful to look after yourself and others whilst at work.
- Previous experience in furniture upholstery (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Strong understanding of upholstery techniques including cutting, sewing, padding, webbing, fitting, and finishing.
- Ability to use upholstery tools and machinery safely and correctly.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to produce high quality finishes.
- Strong problem solving ability when working with complex or bespoke pieces.Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Bonus Scheme: Discretionary bonuses are awarded twice annually, typically amounting to around 10% of the annual base salary. Eligibility for the bonus scheme begins after completing one full financial year of continuous employment with the company.
- A monthly performance bonus is available for upholsterers who meet their production targets. This is paid monthly in addition to the twice yearly discretionary bonus scheme.
