Unqualified Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Gateshead who are seeking an enthusiastic Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join their KS1 team. This is a full-time position running from after the February half-term until the end of the current academic year.

While this is anunqualifiedposition applicantsmusthave recent relevant experience working with children. This can include paid or voluntary experience (for example: classroom support, youth work, tutoring, babysitting or similar).

This Unqualified Teaching Assistant role is varied and rewarding, combining:

• General classroom Teaching Assistant support in KS1
• Supporting pupils with SEND, both in and out of the classroom
• Delivering small group interventions to support learning and development

You will work closely with the class teacher to help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

• Hasrelevant experience within the last 2 yearsworking with children (school-based experience strongly preferred)
• Is confident supporting KS1 pupils
• Has experience or a strong interest in SEND support and intervention work
• Is patient, nurturing and proactive
• Can work well as part of a team and follow guidance from teaching staff

• Full-time, consistent work for the remainder of the academic year
