The Role

We are looking for a sharp, decisive Underwriter to take full ownership of credit decisions. You will assess risk, structure approvals, and work closely with sales, ops, and credit to move good deals fast - and stop bad ones faster. This is a high-impact position where commercial instinct and pace are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting on deals ranging from £25k to £750k.
• Analyse financial statements and open banking data to evaluate creditworthiness.
• Apply credit risk policies while identifying smart, commercial exceptions.
• Structure offers that balance speed, risk, and commercial value.
• Partner with the sales team to ensure fast decisions and clean execution.
• Escalate and advise on complex edge cases and scenarios.
• Maintain CRM accuracy and detailed underwriting documentation.
