What you'll doViasat International Government delivers secure space, cyber, and network solutions to governments worldwide. Within VIG, the UK Team focuses on Defence users across MoD and government partners. The successful candidate will engage with defence focusing on MoD to help realize their ambitions for the Digital Targeting Web, tactical networks, crypto, and satellite communications.
This role involves working with tactical and operational level user groups to capture real-world challenges and requirements, influencing senior defence officials to shape policy, and driving brand awareness and preference for Viasat's products and services.
You will be part of a team delivering mission-critical capabilities to our partners, contributing to projects like Moonlight, which aims to deliver digital infrastructure on and around the moon.
The day-to-dayThe individual will engage with:
- Front Line Commands
- Special User Groups
- Partners Across Government
They will work to solve challenges using Viasat's extensive satellite and defence technologies portfolio, including:
- Resilient network architectures
- Multi-Domain Integration and C2
- Commercial Satcom
- Securing data in transit
- Milsatcom UHF
Focusing on end-user engagement, the candidate will also collaborate with industry partners, including large primes involved in SATCOM and LE TacCIS programmes, and SMEs such as UAx manufacturers, satcom partners, and defence Mission Partners.
What you'll need- 5 years of BD experience or relevant recent experience in defence
- Ability to attain a UK Security Clearance
- Technical mindset, preferably with a communications engineering background
- Good listening skills
- Curiosity and asking questions
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to drive tasks to completion
- Team player with leadership qualities
- Understanding of defence challenges and programs like Asgard, Strike Net, Cabot, Rapstone
- Ability to identify future defence needs and how Viasat can assist
