UI Designer (Figma)

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for two UI Designers for a 6 months contract based in London or Edinburgh (Hyrbid - 1 per week in the office).

Purpose of the Role:

As UI Designer you will join our client's product teams - one focused on web, the other on mobile. As part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, brand-aligned user interface designs across key digital touchpoints. This is a hands-on role for someone who's passionate about crafting beautiful, functional UI and ready to make an immediate impact.

Responsibilities of the role:

As a UI Designer (Figma) you will be responsible for:

• Deliver polished, production-ready UI designs across mobile or web platforms.
• Pick up design tickets and execute BAU tasks with speed and precision.
• Contribute to improving and evolving the existing design system.
• Collaborate daily with UX designers, researchers, content writers, product owners, and engineers.
• Apply creative problem-solving to visual challenges, always aligning with brand intent.
• Confidently prototype using tools like Figma and ProtoPie.

What we require from the candidate:

• Experience in UI design for apps and websites.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your visual design craft and ability to apply brand thinking.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Solid grasp of UI fundamentals, interaction patterns, and responsive design.
• Experience working with design systems in delivery-focused teams.
• Experience in the banking or finance industry is a bonus, but not essential.
• Experience with prototyping (eg, ProtoPie) or user testing tools (eg, UserZoom) would be beneficial.
