Twilight Veterinary Surgeon - OOH / Emergency
Posted 4 hours 25 minutes ago by VC Evidensia UK
Part Time, Permanent. Salary up to €70,000 (FTE) DOE plus excellent benefits.
This is a rare opportunity to join a brand new ECC and out-of-hours service from the very beginning. All Pets Veterinary Hospital is already highly regarded across Ireland for its clinical standards and collaborative team, and this new service is being built to set a new benchmark for emergency care in the region.
You'll be working as part of a dedicated night team of experienced professionals, in an environment designed to deliver high-quality, consistent emergency care while being fully supported by a well-established hospital.
A Twilight Role That Actually Supports Work-Life BalanceYou'll work every Sunday plus bank holidays with shifts running from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm when the night team will take over.
Work at the Cutting Edge of Emergency CareBased in the Drogheda hospital, you'll have access to excellent facilities including digital radiography, ultrasound, a fully equipped in house lab, modern surgical theatres, and dedicated hospital wards. While CT and MRI are not on-site, the team works closely with UCD to ensure fast tracked referrals when needed.
This is a busy, established hospital, so your caseload will be varied, interesting, and genuinely rewarding - ideal for someone looking to build depth and confidence in emergency medicine.
A Strong, Supportive TeamYou'll be joining a large, experienced, and approachable team, with a range of clinical interests across surgery, medicine, dentistry, and ECC. It's a collaborative environment where people support each other, share knowledge, and take pride in delivering excellent patient care. Development is actively encouraged, with funded CPD, support for further qualifications, and paid professional memberships.
Who This Role Would SuitThis role is ideal for a confident, experienced vet who enjoys emergency work and is comfortable working independently overnight. You would need to be competent in small animal medical and surgical emergencies.
RequirementsYou must be VCI registered. While ECC experience is an advantage, a strong interest and willingness to continue developing in this area is just as important. Due to the nature of the role, it's not suited to new graduates or those requiring close day to day mentorship.
