Tutor and Mentor

15 hours per week £25-£30 per hour LA Referral

We are seeking a patient and motivated tutor to work with a Year 9 student who has been out of formal education since July 2025 and now needs structured support to re-engage with learning. The young person experiences significant anxiety around returning to school and would benefit from a calm, consistent mentor who can help build confidence and routine.

The student has a diagnosis of ASD and suspected ADHD (awaiting formal assessment). A flexible, understanding approach is essential.

• Beginning with mentoring-focused sessions to build trust and emotional safety
• Working at a gentle, student-led pace to avoid overwhelm
• Completing a baseline assessment to identify strengths and learning gaps
• Gradually introducing Maths and English once confidence improves
• Helping the student develop coping strategies and rebuild self-belief
• Supporting the transition back into education over time

• 6+ months experience in a UK education setting (within the last 5 years)
• SEN experience desirable, particularly with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs
• Ability to adapt teaching styles to suit emotional readiness and learning gaps
