Board of Trustees Position - Northern College of Acupuncture

Location: Flexible (most meetings online; one annual meeting in York).

Remuneration: Voluntary (reasonable travel expenses covered).

Overview

The Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA), established in 1988, is a pioneering higher education institution dedicated to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. We were the first UK teaching institution to offer a university degree in acupuncture, launch a postgraduate degree in Chinese herbal medicine, and gain professional accreditation for acupuncture and herbal medicine programmes. Today, our university-validated and professionally accredited programmes continue to set standards for excellence, combining Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with modern health care practices.

Qualifications

• Expertise in strategic collaborations, partnerships, and fundraising.
• Experience in finance, law, HR, or business development.
• Leadership experience in higher or further education.
• Professional background in healthcare and allied health professions (e.g., acupuncture, physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic, nutrition).
• Experience in quality assurance, standards, and regulation.
