Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Hold and articulate the vision for Trust & Safety at Supercell: Ensure safety, fairness, and player well-being remain at the core of social experiences.
  • Lead: Foster a culture where senior subject matter experts, developers, and operators thrive, aligning around shared goals that maximize impact for players.
  • Drive operational excellence: Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of Trust & Safety across the program, data, operations, and development sub-cells.
  • Drive strategic alignment: Develop clear, ambitious yet achievable objectives for the team and create space for the best paths to achieve them.
  • Champion the smart use of technology and AI: Explore, evaluate, and implement new technical approaches to improve detection, prevention, and player experience.
  • Be a partner and connector: Collaborate with Player Care, game leadership, and other partners to support safe, engaging social experiences.
  • Be a confident and calming presence: Provide stabilizing leadership in challenging, emotionally charged circumstances.
  • Elevate external awareness and internal alignment: Highlight emerging risks and strategic recommendations to stakeholders and contribute to industry discussions on best practices.
  • Invest in growth and learning: Coach and develop team members to broaden expertise in safety, wellness, regulation, technology, and research.
  • Measure and improve: Oversee reporting on effectiveness, quality, and impact; use insights from data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Remove barriers: Identify and resolve obstacles hindering the team's performance and advocate for needed resources and support.
Requirements
  • Significant Trust & Safety experience: 5+ years in Trust & Safety, online safety, or related fields with a proven track record addressing large-scale safety challenges.
  • Leadership at senior levels: 2+ years leading teams of senior specialists, program managers, or technical experts; able to set direction without heavy reliance on hierarchy.
  • Strategic and operational range: Ability to balance high-level vision with hands-on involvement in operational details when needed.
  • Strong understanding of technology: Familiarity with the role of AI, automation, and data in online safety; eager to learn as the field evolves.
  • Strong communicator: Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal); ability to distill complexity for diverse audiences.
  • Global perspective: Awareness of how pop culture, current events, and regulation shape online communities worldwide.
  • Resilience and empathy: Experience handling emotionally difficult content and supporting teams in challenging environments.
  • Proactive and improvement-driven: Habit of seeking better ways to operate for oneself, the team, and the organization.
  • Technical literacy: Comfort working with technical teams, data scientists, or engineers; familiarity with ML/AI concepts or content moderation tools.
  • Confident leading in a hybrid setting: Comfortable supporting distributed/hybrid teams across London, Helsinki, and remote members in Europe.

  • Multilingual ability: Additional languages beyond English are valued.
  • Cross-cultural experience: Experience living or collaborating with global teams.
  • Higher education: Relevant post-secondary education in fields like law, policy, sociology, psychology, computer science, etc.
  • Industry visibility: Contributions to panels, conferences, or thought leadership in Trust & Safety or related fields.
  • Game or community passion: Experience as a gamer or community participant helps connect policy and play.
  • Crisis navigation: Involvement in escalations or incidents requiring collaboration with law enforcement or regulators.
