Start of Role: Mid September 2025

Tasks

We are seeking an experienced Truck Prototype & Test Workshop Lead to provide leadership and drive issues resolution. You will:

  • Interface between engineering and production teams, leading issue resolution on truck assets from build to customer handover.
  • Ensure trucks are built correctly and are fit-for-purpose for testing or shipping.
  • Coordinate and execute reworks on trucks, managing timelines, quality, and costs.
  • Perform physical reworks or outsource when necessary.
  • Manage the prototype workshop budget, assets, and safety policies.
  • Support truck testing, including data logging and assisting during test days (primarily at UTAC, Millbrook).
  • Provide feedback on truck design improvements.
  • Work with suppliers on parts fabrication and rework, managing specifications, finances, and logistics.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Team Lead.
Requirements

What you bring

  • Proven supervisory/leadership experience in automotive, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
  • Understanding of fabrication techniques and automotive systems.
  • Practical experience in fabrication, welding, and electrical works.
  • Ability to inspect and control quality.
  • Ability to interpret CAD data and drawings.
  • High voltage system safety awareness; HV training preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Resilience, organization, and ability to manage pressure.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK Driving license with access to a vehicle; C1 license preferred.
