Trials Manager

Looking for a role where you can combine agriculture, trials, people and a bit of strategy?

We're working with a well-established agricultural business that is looking for a Trials Manager to take the lead on its trials activity across the UK.

The main site is in the Midlands, but there are sites across the UK and the role is home based, so you'll be travelling regularly to trials sites, grower platforms and open days.

What's the role?

You'll be responsible for making sure the trials programme runs smoothly from start to finish, from preparation, drilling and spraying through to assessments, data and results.

You'll also lead the trials team, helping to develop the people around you and making sure everyone has what they need to do a good job.

There's plenty of variety too. You'll be involved in:

• Managing and coordinating trials across multiple sites
• Keeping projects on track and within budget
• Leading, coaching and developing the trials team
• Looking at trial results and using the data to shape future projects
• Working with the wider R&D team on future strategy
• Getting involved with grower and platform open days
• Building relationships with growers, suppliers and other industry contacts
• Keeping up with what's happening across agriculture, products and new technology

Who are we looking for?

You could be an experienced trials professional, agronomist or technical specialist who is looking for a role with more responsibility.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience within agriculture and/or trials
• Experience managing or developing people
• A good understanding of farming and agricultural inputs
• The ability to understand and interpret trial data
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A commercial and practical approach
• BASIS and FACTS - desirable rather than essential

Above all, we're looking for someone who is forward-thinking, motivated and good with people, with the drive to get things done and make improvements along the way.
