Treatment Room Nurse (Ref: 227728)

Temporary Contract until 31/09/26 • Part Time - 22 hours per week • Band 5 - Salary Range £33,247 - £41,424 per annum (pro rata) • Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,482 per annum (pro rata).

Are you an experienced Qualified Nurse who is enthusiastic about your role and wants to make a difference? If so, we want you to join us as part of the nursing team delivering care to the population of Shetland in a primary care and community setting.

Working predominantly in the Unst Health Centre, you will be able to perform treatment room nursing skills for our population. The role of the Practice Nurse is a key member of the practice team. You should be proactively engaged in health engagement, health prevention and health management. Be able to provide comprehensive and personalised care to individuals across their lifespan and be directly accessible by the whole practice population.

Requirements and working arrangements

Requirements: current NMC registration is essential. Commitment to delivering evidence-based care and patient safety is essential. You will work independently based in the Unst Health Centre, working closely within the community nursing team and the GP. You may work across Primary Care Nursing and the community nursing team when required.

Desirable skills (training can be provided): phlebotomy, ECG, ear irrigation, wound management, spirometry, smear testing, long-term condition management. A full driving license is preferred and a willingness to work autonomously is essential. These qualities contribute to the pivotal role within the wider multi-disciplinary practice team to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
