Travel Trade & Group Sales Manager

The Travel Trade & Group Sales Manager will lead on developing and delivering our group and travel trade sales strategy across all five sites. The post holder will be responsible for growing IWM's travel trade, group visitor numbers and revenue through productive relationships and partnerships and support operational aspects of working with these markets to ensure smooth booking processes and communications.
In addition to working with our digital and marketing teams, this position will work closely with our Events and Experiences team, who design our sellable visitor products and the Admissions team, who manage operational delivery, capacity and ticketing systems. Success will depend on close cross-team collaboration to maximise impact, revenue and visitor satisfaction.

In addition, your duties will include:
Strategic Development:
- Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive travel trade and group sales strategy aligned with the museum's commercial goals.
- Identify growth opportunities across B2B segments, including international and domestic travel trade, OTAs, FITs and group organisers.
- Develop your networks in the travel trade, group travel and museum/ visitor attraction sector to enable horizon scanning and early identification of new and emerging trends and opportunities.
- Define and track KPIs to evaluate performance and inform future planning.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with travel trade partners, including tour operators, wholesalers, destination management companies and OTAs.
- Act as the key liaison for trade and group-related enquiries and partnerships.
- Represent the museum at trade shows, fam trips and networking events to build brand awareness and develop new partnerships.
Sales & Revenue:
- Develop and sell group-friendly products and packages in collaboration with the Events and Experiences team.
- Work with the Admissions and Marketing teams to optimise pricing strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and commission structures with third-party platforms and distributors.
Systems & Operations:
- Oversee the group booking systems, working towards integration with the museum's ticketing and CRM platforms.
- Collaborate with the Admissions and Ticketing team to manage booking processes, visitor capacity and operational readiness.
- Identify and support implementation of new payment platforms and systems to enable new UK and international payment methods.
- Ensure all sales channels - internal and third-party - are aligned and delivering accurate availability, pricing and product information.
Marketing and communications:
- Assist with the content and creation of travel trade marketing materials such as product copy, images and photos, flyers, display materials and website copy.
- Support the development and ongoing maintenance of a travel trade website with regularly updated content, including texts, reviews, news, images and photos.
- Update directories and third-party information, write content and prepare imagery as appropriate.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the bridge between Business Development, Events and Experiences and Admissions teams to ensure smooth product delivery and customer experience.
- Contribute to cross-departmental planning to support programming, product development and operational logistics.
- Produce regular reports and insights for senior leadership, including sales trends, partner performance and market opportunities.
