Job Description

We are looking for a talented Transport Team Leader to join our team specialising in Logistics for our Transportation department in Daventry, United Kingdom.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become permanent. Working hours are Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift: 7:00am-3:00pm and 2:00pm-10:00pm (including shift allowance).

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manage a team of up to 16 people, providing leadership, guidance and escalation support.
  • Oversee Export and Inbound shipping processes, including booking equipment, documentation, and customs clearance.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX, trade compliance, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Attend key stakeholder meetings, facilitating smooth communication between senior management, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Prepare and analyse KPI reports, documents, and dashboards that inform strategic decision making.
  • Work effectively with time sensitive and changeable schedules, maintaining flexibility and accuracy under pressure.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Safeguard confidential records and files, ensuring security and discretion at all times.
External Qualifications and Competencies

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Excellent attention to detail - quality control is critical in logistics and compliance.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Previous transportation/logistics experience with a solid understanding of shipping processes.
  • Good computer background with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office Suite.
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

Education/Experience:

  • Significant work experience in administrative support, logistics, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, trade regulations) and stakeholder management.
  • Additional training or certifications in business administration or logistics are preferred.
