About the role

To lead, support & develop our own fleet operation to ensure performance is exceeded and maintained. You will play a vital part in ensuring operational compliance in Health & Safety, vehicle upkeep & building relationships with our customers by delivering an industry leading delivery service.

Accountable for the management and supervision of the fleet operation. Working with vehicle operatives to ensure they have the time, skills, and tools to maintain their vehicle to the highest standards.

Manage, support, and develop the fleet team, ensuring all company training is up to date to identify any areas where extra supervision/training may be required.

Monitor performance KPI's to ensure the operation and the team meet customer expectations in line with Company policies.

Ensure your team adhere to Health & Safety and legal requirements to protect the safety of the staff, our customers, and members of the public.

Monitor effective use of driver and vehicle resources to ensure we achieve our goal of next day delivery to our customers on all dispatched orders.

Work closely with the Operations Manager to analyse operational and financial performance data to identify service efficiencies and improvement around, MPG, fuel, and vehicle maintenance.

Coordinate site housekeeping, leaving the working area tidy to ensure the smooth transition between shifts.

Carry out any other duties and responsibilities that are commensurate with the role and within your capability, as and when required to ensure the company continues to operate efficiently.

What are we looking for?
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety. (Recognised qualification preferable)
  • Able to manage, motivate and develop people.
  • KPI development and measurement
  • Ability to plan and organise effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use and understand computerised systems.
  • Intermediate or above Excel skills
  • High level of accuracy and numeracy, keen eye for detail
  • Full UK driving license (essential)
