Job Description

Working in partnership with M&S, at Gist we deliver industry-leading logistics and supply chain transformation.

At Gist, safety and people sit at the heart of everything we do.

At Gist, we keep the UK's favourite M&S products moving - and we're looking for a Transport Planner to help keep our Clonshaugh operation running smoothly.

If you thrive in a fast-paced transport environment, enjoy problem solving, and like being at the heart of an operation where no two days are the same, this could be the role for you.

What you'll be doing

As a Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in ensuring our transport operation runs safely, efficiently, and on time.

  • Planning vehicle movements and managing daily transport operations
  • Supporting drivers and operational teams throughout the shift
  • Managing rotas and transport resources effectively
  • Responding quickly to operational challenges and customer requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with driver regulations and WTD
  • Working closely with colleagues across shifts to maintain service levels
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

This is a role where your decisions genuinely make a difference every single day.

Shift Pattern
  • Any 5 from 7 days
  • Likely Sunday to Thursday (with a 7.00am start on Sunday & Monday. And a 9.00am start on Tuesday to Thursday). Some flexibility is required.
  • 8 hour shifts
  • An opportunity for over time.

Providing great work/life balance with plenty of time off built into your rota.

Salary & Benefits
  • 20% M&S discount across food, fashion, and furniture
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays (rises with service)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Discounts at major retailers and restaurants
  • Employee Assistance Programme & wellbeing support
  • Full induction and ongoing development opportunities
What we're looking for

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience working within transport planning or logistics operations
  • Knowledge of drivers' hours, WTD, and transport compliance
  • Experience working in a fast paced operational environment
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • National or International CPC (preferred but not essential)

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who stays calm under pressure, enjoys teamwork, and takes pride in delivering a great operation.

Gist aims to be an inclusive organisation, trusted and admired by our colleagues, customers, and suppliers. If you consider yourself to require reasonable adjustments to any part of our recruitment process, we invite you to share those requirements with us. We will make every effort to ensure your needs are met to provide a fair and transparent process of assessment. If it's meaningful to you, it's important to us.
