Transport Planner

Our client are continuing to expand and we are currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their day shift team. You will help ensure the smooth running of our transport operation for a major client and recognised brand.

• Manage the Planning Email communication with senior planners.
• Support senior planners with requested activity, to include contacting drivers or subcontractors, communicating plans to drivers/subcontractors (this list is not exhaustive).
• Plan execution and communicating issues to relevant senior planner and customer services.
• Debrief drivers to ensure actual times, trailer no's and demurrage are recorded in line with expectations.
• Support senior planners with driver hours and timesheet management.
• Dispatch drivers in line with load requirements and driver's hours.
• Complete thorough driver briefings and debriefs.
• Monitor all on site haulier activity and update relevant systems.

• Must have knowledge of TMS or demonstrate experience and systems knowledge.
• Have worked in a planning function previously undertaking similar duties.
• Ability to interpret and translate facts and information in order to explain situations and issues to people.
• Ability to follow pre defined steps, methods or approaches but with the ability to modify and adapt when required.
• Organised and process driven.
• Quick, logical thinker with the ability to manage change and conflicting priorities.
• Professional approach.
• Capable of professional written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of the transport industry and complete Explore offering.
• Understanding of general business processes relating to the industry.
