Transport Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead our transport and planning team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department, ensuring transport services are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transport, planning, and administration teams.
• Manage daily transport operations, planning, and resource allocation.
• Take ownership of departmental budgets, costs, and profitability.
• Improve operational efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure vehicles and drivers are utilised effectively.
• Monitor KPIs, prepare reports, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with Irish transport legislation, driver hours, RSA, and Health & Safety requirements.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
• Lead, motivate, and develop your team through coaching and performance management.
• Resolve operational and customer issues quickly and professionally.

What We're Looking For Essential

• Minimum 5 years' experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations management.
• Previous experience managing transport planning and daily operations.
• Strong commercial awareness with budget and P&L management experience.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Good knowledge of Irish transport regulations and compliance.
• Experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem solving skills.
