Job Description
What will I be doing? 
You will carry out the operation of loading shovels, FLT & tele-handlers across the site, loading a variety of different types of vehicles such as curtain sided vehicles, shipping containers and bulk haulage walking floors.
This will involve:
- To oversee and ensure safe and efficient operation and use of fixed machinery, such as bailing machines.
- Complete pre-operational safety and operator checks.
- Complete daily checks and maintenance of mobile plant, Fixed Plant and equipment used at the facility.
- Ensuring that all deliveries of waste follow the site licence and any associated paperwork is completed.
- Carry out inspections on incoming product(s) in line with the site Waste Acceptance Criteria and report any non-compliant loads.
- Direct customer's vehicles to the various disposal areas and assist them with off-loading as required.
- Ensure compliance with all material export requirements such as photo's, paperwork and container seals.
- Assist Sampling Operatives with collection of output samples.
- Comply fully with all company and local procedures.
- Ensure the site is always kept clean and tidy.
- Assist Production staff with their duties during end of shift clean-ups and plant downtime.
- Contribute to lean and 5's activities across the site in order to maintain a clean, organised and efficient workplace.
- To work as part of a team and to maintain an efficient and cost-effective operation.
- Ensuring that SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees.
- Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job role.
- For immediate impact, we are ideally seeking an experienced plant operator, who holds the relevant CITB/CPCS/NPORS certification or equivalent, however for the right candidate training can be given.
- We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards.
- A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
- A safety conscious approach with the desire to develop & embrace change to promote continuous improvement.
- Previous experience within the waste industry or other high-volume production processes is an advantage, but not a necessity.
