Role: Transactions/M&A Freelance Consultant
Consulting Seniority: Consultant - Manager
Day rate: £350-£500/day (Outside IR35)
Project duration: 2-10 weeks
Location: London/Hybrid
We are partnered with a small-to-medium-sized strategy, operations, and sustainability consultancy. They primarily operate in the private sector, including supporting PE-backed companies.
They're looking to engage two independent consultants with transaction experience, starting next week (subject to final confirmation of projects, expected early next week). The ideal candidates will have experience operating independently at the consultant or senior consultant level.

Tasks- Buy-side support: Helping a client assess, structure, and execute an acquisition
- Sell-side support: Preparing a business for sale, managing vendor materials, or optimizing valuation
- Post-merger integration: Planning and executing the integration of people, processes, and systems
- Carve-out analysis: Advising on the separation of a business unit
- Synergy assessment: Identifying cost-saving or revenue-generating opportunities in a deal
- Strategic option evaluation: Helping clients decide between acquisition, partnership, or organic growth
- An independent consultant
- Strategy consulting background at a tier 1, tier 2, Big 4, or specialist boutique.
- Alternatively, a transactions background in Private Equity (PE) or Investment Banking (IB)
- Comfortable with a hybrid setup from their London HQ

- Consultant; Senior Consultant; Manager
