About the role: Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the TE Maintenance Team Lead will lead and coordinate a small, dedicated team of electrical and mechanical engineers responsible for minor defect repair of all training equipment. The role ensures compliance with company standards and contractual requirements. The position will be primarily located in the South East (Portsmouth) area with the occasional requirement to travel to the South West (Plymouth) & North (Scotland) Skills and Experience Requirements Recognised Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Qualification IOSH Managing safely certificate. Experience and a good working knowledge of MS Office applications Experience in using Computer based maintenance management systems Experience in fault finding and reporting in a engineering environment Eligible to work in the UK and must possess (or be able to obtain) SC level security clearance. Desirable Building & Leading small teams Good customer relation skills Energy, drive, and enthusiasm for continuous improvement Solutions-focused and collaborative in problem-solving. Experience of applying engineering/electrical principles practically in a military technical environment. Responsibilities Manage and lead a small mechanical and electrical defect rectification/maintenance team. Diagnose basic defect and maintenance requirements and implement a rectification plan. Including identifying when contractors are required Understand operational requirements of assigned plant and equipment. Ensure maintenance standards meet statutory regulations & customer standards Maintain a good knowledge of the operational state of all applicable Training Equipment. Ensure the team remain current in all required qualifications Collaborate with contractors to ensure maximum operability of training equipment. Coordinate with the Authority to plan downtime for machinery repairs, minimising disruption to training output. Be Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement Any other duties required to complete the Training Equipment Service.
