Training Designer Overview

We are seeking a skilled and creative Training Designer to develop engaging, effective, and high-quality learning solutions. This role involves analysing training needs, designing instructional materials, and supporting the delivery of training programmes that enhance learner performance and capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop training solutions aligned to organisational goals and learner needs
  • Conduct training needs analysis to identify knowledge and skill gaps
  • Create instructional materials, including e-learning modules, classroom content, and blended learning programmes
  • Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g. ADDIE, SAM) to ensure effective learning outcomes
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and validate training materials
  • Develop assessments and evaluation methods to measure training effectiveness
  • Ensure all learning content meets quality, accessibility, and compliance standards
  • Maintain and update existing training materials to reflect changes in processes or technology
  • Support the delivery and facilitation of training where required
  • Use learning technologies and authoring tools to produce high-quality content
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in instructional design, learning and development, or training design
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design frameworks
  • Experience developing digital learning content (e-learning, multimedia, or virtual training)
  • Proficiency in learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate, Captivate, or similar)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging learning materials
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Education, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g. CIPD, ATD) is desirable
Desirable
  • Experience working in a technical, engineering, or regulated environment
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience with data analysis to evaluate learning effectiveness

    Salary: GBP 35000 - 45000 per year
