This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while undertaking a structured programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).Working within a specialist setting, you will support and inspire young people who require an alternative approach to education, helping them achieve both academically and personally.As a Trainee Teacher, you will undertake a structured training programme while gaining practical, hands-on experience in the classroom. Supported by experienced teachers, mentors and senior leaders, you will develop your teaching practice and build the skills needed to become a successful qualified teacher.Key responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across your subject specialism Supporting students with a range of educational and pastoral needs Developing your understanding of inclusive teaching practices, behaviour support and trauma-informed approaches Assessing and monitoring student progress Creating a positive and supportive learning environment Participating fully in academy life, enrichment activities and wider school events Engaging in ongoing professional development and training leading towards QTSWhat We're Looking For

  • A degree or strong academic background in a Science-related subject
  • A genuine passion for education and empowering young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilience, adaptability and a positive attitude
  • Commitment to professional development and achieving QTS
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
