Trainee Service Engineer

Job Title: Junior Service Engineer / Compressor Engineer

Reason for Vacancy: Ongoing recruitment for a junior engineer to support national service operations and develop under the technical lead.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Service and maintenance of compressors and associated equipment.
• Split between field-based work and local site coverage.
• Approximately 50/50 mix of independent and mentored/training work.
• National travel as required (primarily M1/A1 corridor to Midlands).

Reporting Line: Reports to Technical Head / Engineering Manager.

Team & Support:

• Will work closely with the Head of Technical, who provides hands on mentoring.
• Opportunities for training and skill development.

Top 3 Requirements:

1. Apprentice-trained engineer (ideally just finished or recently completed apprenticeship).
2. Strong mechanical foundation with some electrical exposure.
3. Enthusiastic, motivated, and keen to learn within a technical environment.

Progression Opportunities:

• Development from junior into fully qualified field engineer.
• Strong mentorship structure in place.

Location:

• Ideally based in South Yorkshire.
• Covers a national patch when needed, focused on M1/A1 corridor down to Midlands.

Travel / Hybrid Working:

• Field-based with national travel.
• Van provided.

Package:

• Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 basic depending on qualifications and experience.
• Vehicle included (company van).

• Apprentice-trained or newly qualified mechanical/electromechanical engineer.
• Open to transferable skillsets with both mechanical and electrical exposure.
• Junior-level preferred (not senior or highly experienced).
