Job Description
Overview

Trainee Lift Engineers (233jc) - Hybrid role, covering London and Home Counties - circa £30 - 35k + Benefits.

My client, established for over 30 years, seeks to recruit an additional Trainee Engineer to join their expanding team. The successful candidate can progress within the company into more senior roles depending on ability. There are multiple roles available (Technician, Repair Engineer, Service Engineer, Thorough to Installation Engineer) and initial skills will be similar, with progression into different specialisms within the sector.

On entry, you should have a decent level of engineering capability. Electrical experience is ideal but not essential; those with electrical experience may progress faster within the company. After an initial 6 months of training and development, you will be specialised into one of the above roles.

Responsibilities
  • Complete initial training and development (approximately 6 months) before taking responsibility for your own geographic location.
  • Support a range of lift engineering roles with the possibility to specialise (Technician, Repair, Service, Thorough/Installation Engineer) based on aptitude and company needs.
  • Operate within the required Health & Safety procedures and standards.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Strong mechanical background; electrical experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to work towards targets while maintaining high standards.
  • Understanding of current Health & Safety procedures and standards relevant to the role.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and provide documentation to a high standard.
  • Self-starter with good initiative and a flexible, enthusiastic attitude.
Location and Training

The role covers the geographic area from Southampton to Swindon to the London area, including Kent and Essex. Initial full training and mentoring are provided.

Benefits and Salary
  • Starting salary up to £30 - 35k.
  • Annual performance bonus up to 10%.
  • Electric company car scheme (no personal tax implication).
  • Private medical healthcare.
  • 25 days' leave + Bank Holidays.
  • Company pension scheme (4% company contribution and 4% personal contribution).
