A specialist school in the Sunderland area is seeking a Trainee Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils aged 4-18 years who have Autism, physical disabilities, complex communication needs and sensory processing differences.
The RoleYou will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff helping pupils access learning in a safe and supportive environment.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils during lessons and structured activities
- Assisting with sensory learning sessions
- Encouraging communication and interaction
- Supporting pupils with mobility or positioning equipment
- Helping pupils remain engaged with learning activities
Experience is desirable but not essential.
Candidates may begin on a trainee scale, allowing them to gain experience and training while developing their skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
