About The Role

The Fareham and Gosport Environmental Health Partnership is looking for a passionate, ambitious person to work towards becoming a qualified Food & Safety Officer to join our dynamic Commercial team. This is a rare opportunity for supported training and developing leading the successful applicant to becoming one of our qualified Food Premises Inspectors.

Career Development

This is a career graded role and we will support and provide you professional training and development via on-the-job training and supporting you to undertake the Food Premises Inspection Higher Certificate: Level 5 (day release), leading to qualification as a Food Premise Inspector.

Responsibilities

The job involves variety and challenge. You'll be carrying out food hygiene inspections, following up on complaints, investigating cases of communicable disease and food poisoning. You'll also be offering advice, guidance, and practical solutions to our businesses, to keep them compliant and ensuring food is safe to eat.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for food safety, is organised, and willing to learn. You'll need strong communication skills because you'll be working with everyone - from business owners, the public, elected members and colleagues.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will need to hold an HND/BSc Honours QAA FHEQ Level 4 in a related discipline although applicants part way through the qualification will also be considered. A full UK driving licence and access to a car are also essential, as you'll be out and about making things happen.
