Job Description

Trainee Fire Alarm Engineer - London and Surrounding Areas

Morgan Fire Protection specialises in the delivery of planned and corrective maintenance of fire detection systems and portable extinguishers. While the majority of Morgan Fire's operational resources are based around London, we provide national coverage through our reactive delivery model. We are currently seeking a Trainee Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team in the London and South East region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and servicing & commissioning of fire alarms/emergency lights across a wide range of systems across multiple customer locations.
  • Fire alarm installations
  • Fire alarm commissioning, mainly Advanced, Kentec systems.
  • Planning and implementing routine and demand call visits for your area.
  • Provide a good technical understanding of drawings and wiring systems.
  • Able to carry out fault finding diagnostics
  • Run small to medium installations, guide our installation team.
  • Able to work from drawings & complete all documentation.
  • Full understanding of all related regulations BS, BS5839-1;2025, BS5838-6;2019
  • Delivering a first-class customer service to all our customers.
  • Some experience as an electrician or a knowledge/understanding of electrics is essential.
  • You must be comfortable in a sometimes physically demanding role.
  • Provide support to colleagues where needed, train & upskill our workforce
  • You must have some flexibility to travel. it is a national role and will require occasional UK travel. In the future, we aim for this role to be solely regional; however, for now, you need to be comfortable traveling.
  • Full, clean UK driving Licence is essential.
  • Certificates of competency
  • No call-out rotas

Requirements:

  • No previous experience required, full training will be provided.
  • Passionate about pursuing a career in the fire alarm industry.
  • Strong interest in technical and mechanical systems.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license.
