Location: Leeds
Job Type: Full-Time (Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-3:30pm)
Reports To: Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Contracts Engineer to join our growing team. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fire protection industry, working closely with experienced engineers to support project delivery from design through to installation and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of fire sprinkler installation projects.
- Support senior engineers in preparing project documentation including technical submittals, schedules, and reports.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of contracts.
- Monitor project progress and provide updates to internal teams.
- Attend site meetings and assist with site inspections and surveys.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety regulations and industry standards.
- Learn and apply applicable codes and standards (e.g., BS EN 12845, NFPA, LPC Rules).
- Maintain accurate project records and assist with cost tracking and invoicing.
Requirements:
- Strong interest in fire protection systems and engineering.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical and commercial skills.
- Full UK driving license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit is advantageous but not necessary.
- A background in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field is not necessary but would be advantageous.
