Salary: 50.000 - 65.000 € per year

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Middleware Architect, or Senior Integration Engineer.
  • Deep expertise in middleware technologies, including APIs, event streaming, and messaging (Kafka, MQ, AMQP) as well as event-driven architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for high-performance, mission-critical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc.).
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and best practices.
  • Very good inter-personal and verbal/written English communication skills.
  • Collaborative attitude and good moderation skills.
  • Enthusiastic about steering, training, and upskilling internal and external staff.
Responsibilities:
  • As the Technical Lead for Trading Integration, I set the architectural direction that ensures technical excellence and drives innovation. My key responsibilities include:
  • Technical Strategy & Architecture for Middleware:
  • - Defining the technical vision and architecture for the middleware platform, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategy.
  • - Establishing best practices for API design, messaging, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns.
  • - Ensuring the platform is highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant, supporting the demands of energy trading.
  • - Leading the adoption of cloud-native and DevOps approaches, optimizing middleware performance and deployment efficiency.
  • Platform Engineering & Development Leadership:
  • - Guiding engineering teams in implementing high-quality middleware solutions, providing hands-on technical leadership where needed.
  • - Defining and enforcing coding standards, security guidelines, and operational best practices.
  • - Ensuring observability, monitoring, and alerting are embedded into the platform for proactive issue resolution.
  • - Leading the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, ensuring continuous platform evolution.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • - Working closely with the Product Owner to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • - Engaging with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration across IT landscapes.
  • - Advocating for middleware best practices, coaching teams on modern integration approaches.
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement:
  • - Defining and monitoring key technical KPIs, including performance, availability, and security metrics.
  • - Ensuring compliance with regulatory, security, and operational resilience requirements.
  • - Driving continuous improvement initiatives, fostering automation, standardization, and self-service enablement.
