There is a signing bonus available with this role: £3,000 paid over three (3) instalments.
Work on precision aerospace components in a hands on toolroom environment
Syntech Recruitment is working with a well-established UK aerospace and defence manufacturer, renowned for producing high precision components used in critical, life saving aviation systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join a clean, modern manufacturing facility with long term stability and development.
We are recruiting a Toolroom Engineer to support low batch, high precision machining operations. This role is ideal for a machinist who enjoys hands on work, combining manual machining, deburring and fitting, rather than high volume production work.

- Carry out manual machining, including milling, turning, drilling and fitting
- Perform deburring, bench work and component finishing/broaching
- Produce precision components to tight tolerances and engineering drawings
- Edit programmes at the machine (no offline programming required)
- Carry out self inspection using micrometres, verniers, gauges, etc.
- Support apprentices and trainees where required
- Conduct basic machine and tool maintenance
This role suits a hands on machinist with a strong manual background and a quality first mindset.
Essential experience- Background as a Manual Machinist, Toolroom Engineer or Toolmaker
- Confident setting and operating CNC mills and lathes
- Strong manual machining skills
- Experience with deburring, fitting and finishing work
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Comfortable working to tight tolerances and quality standards
