Main duties of the jobAs theTherapy Team Lead, you will overseethe daily management of the rehabilitation therapy team, ensuring the higheststandards of care and support for people using our services. You will coordinate therapy goal-setting meetings, lead multidisciplinary team (MDT)discussions, and work closely with both the therapy and management teams toensure smooth communication across services. In the absence of the ClinicalHead of Rehab, you will step in to support the team and ensure continuity ofcare.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload while supervising the clinicalcaseload of the therapy team. Youll also take the lead in service development,identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance care.Additionally, you will contribute to the development and delivery of specialisttraining for staff, support the induction of new team members, and ensure theefficient allocation of therapy tasks and resources.
This is a pivotalleadership role with a focus on quality care, team collaboration, and serviceimprovement.

Job responsibilitiesTheTherapy Team Leadwill be responsible for overseeing theday-to-day management of the therapy team at Kingston Rehabilitation Centre. Inthis role, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation therapy,guide the clinical team, and support the operational management of the service.You will deputise for the Clinical Head of Rehabilitation in their absence andwork closely with senior management to drive service improvements and ensurepatient care standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management& Leadership:Lead, mentor,and supervise a team of therapists, ensuring the delivery of person-centred,evidence-based care. Coordinate and allocate tasks, ensuring the team workscohesively to meet client needs. Conduct regular therapy team meetings,goal-setting sessions, and facilitate effective communication across departments.
Clinical Oversight:Manage your own caseload while overseeing theclinical caseload of your team, ensuring high-quality rehabilitation care isdelivered in line with national, professional, and local standards. Act as aclinical resource for the team, providing guidance and support on complexcases.
Training &Development:Lead thedevelopment of neuro-rehabilitation study days and provide specialist trainingto therapists, care staff, and other professionals. Ensure continuous learningand professional development for your team.
Collaboration &Communication:Work closelywith the Registered Manager and Clinical Head of Rehabilitation to review andimprove services. Foster strong relationships with clinicians, stakeholders,and external partners to maintain a reputation of excellence.
Service Development& Improvement:Identify areasfor service improvement and implement strategies to enhance care delivery. Leadaudits and contribute to quality assurance initiatives.
Operational Support:Support the management team in operationaltasks, including the planning of weekly therapy timetables and overseeingtherapy stock levels. Ensure the efficient use of resources within the team.
Person Specification Qualifications- Professional Qualifications:
- Registered Physiotherapist with a recognised professional qualification.
- HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration.
- Experience:
- Post-graduate experience working with individuals with neurological conditions at a senior level.
- Experience in treating and rehabilitating individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
- Significant experience working in clinical rehabilitation settings.
- Experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary therapy team.
- Clinical Competence & Skills:
- Advanced skills in assessment and development of individualised treatment plans.
- Competency in writing patient reports, including assessments and treatment plans.
- Strong knowledge of CQC and Care Standards, and the ability to work in compliance with these regulations.
- Ability to manage clinical governance and ensure high standards of patient care.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary therapy team.
- Ability to manage team resources, ensure high-quality care, and maintain effective team communication.
- Personal Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines.
- Empathy, active listening skills, and sensitivity in working with patients.
- Safeguarding & Ethics:
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and adherence to ethical practice in all aspects of patient care.
- Experience:
- Experience carrying out pre-admission assessments and suggesting likely therapy needs.
- Experience in delivering water-based therapy sessions.
- Legal & Regulatory Knowledge:
- Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
- Training & Development:
- Experience in training and mentoring colleagues or junior staff.
- Additional Skills:
- Post-graduate certifications or specialist training in neurological rehabilitation or similar fields.
- Experience using specialist rehabilitation equipment or technologies.
