Therapeutic Intervention Worker - ACT
Job description
37 hours per week
Fixed Term up to 31 March 2028
Edge of Care are committed to developing innovative, evidence-based services that work effectively with families experiencing multiple and complex challenges, often linked to social exclusion and high dependency on public services.
Within this exciting and evolving landscape, an opportunity has arisen to join our co-located, multi-agency child and family services as a Therapeutic Intervention Worker within our Edge of Care Service. We are seeking a motivated and skilled practitioner with a 'can do' approach, who is passionate about improving outcomes for families and committed to the delivery and development of evidence-based interventions.
This is a key role within the Exploitation and Adolescence element of Edge of Care, providing structured, longer-term therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and carers following a period of crisis or disruption. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary, trauma-informed team, the post holder will deliver evidence-based direct work to promote emotional recovery, relational repair, and long-term placement stability
We are looking for a highly skilled worker with experience of working with families on the edge of care or within intensive family intervention services. You will contribute to a psychologically informed environment that supports recovery from trauma, builds resilience, and strengthens the capacity of carers to meet the complex needs of adolescents at risk of exploitation, placement breakdown, or care entry.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, innovative service that values creativity and doing things differently. You will work alongside skilled, passionate colleagues in a collaborative, multi-agency environment, and take the opportunity to develop your leadership, coaching, and strategic skills while remaining closely connected to direct practice.
If you are attracted by this opportunity to help shape the future of Edge of Care Services and make a real difference to children and families, we would love to hear from you.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
Weekend Working is a requirement of this post.
