Job Description
Theatre Administrator

We are looking for a Theatre Administrator who will be responsible for providing an effective and welcoming reception service for patients, relatives and other visitors attending the Day Surgery Unit. The successful candidate will facilitate a smooth process of patient greeting, checking in and support in the preparation for operations. The post holder will work as part of the Day Surgery reception team to support and contribute to a caring and efficient service.

Responsibilities

Responsible for clerical duties including meeting and greeting patients, visitors and staff in person and via telephone; providing comprehensive and effective administrative support to the Day Surgery Unit, troubleshooting and problem solving as required, with occasional ad hoc support to the main theatre reception; supporting theatres to ensure efficient implementation of patient pathways, patient care and post operative appointment arrangement; providing occasional pastoral care to patients and relatives when needed; participating in other administrative activities alongside management and senior colleagues as appropriate; ensuring patient pathways are handled accurately, inputting confidential patient information promptly on various Trust systems; covering reception in the theatre department and any other administrative duties required. The post requires a self motivated individual who can work as part of a team.

Applicants will therefore need to already have the right to work in the UK to be considered. If you do not meet the sponsorship requirements and you are applying using a Graduate visa, you must have a minimum of 18 months remaining on your visa at the time of application.

Person Specification Skills and Experience
  • Dealing with people/patients
  • Knowledge and experience of multiple IT systems

  • Experience in a healthcare setting
