We are looking for an Intern to support the Flight Test & Evaluation team in the Salisbury, UK area. Boeing Test & Evaluation conducts the maintenance and trials flying of Chinook, Apache and E7 aircraft from several locations in the UK. The team consists of pilots and aircrew working alongside flight test engineers to deliver test programmes in support of UK capability. This internship is at the heart of the flying organisation supporting the Chief Test Pilot and his team. The successful candidate will gain insight into the operation of the BDUK flying organisation and visibility of all of the ongoing test programmes underneath it, as well as having input to the various Regulatory and Safety processes required to conduct flying activities.
Responsibilities- Support the Chief Test Pilot and BT&E UK Leadership Team with the day to day running of the flying/test organisation.
- Support to the Flight Test Operations team in the execution/delivery of any ongoing flight trials.
- Conduct internal audits - developing system for tracking, conduct and reporting of internal audits in order to output Quality metrics and support Air Safety judgement.
- Maintain the drumbeat of team meetings alongside the tracking of team decisions and actions using the Centrik tool.
- Maintain the team processes, templates, org structure and list of Responsibilities, Authorities and Accountabilities.
- Tracking of team performance and the generation of internal metrics.
- Conduct and document Continuous improvement activities for the team.
- Studying towards a business or engineering degree.
- Confident user of MS Office tools particularly Powerpoint, Excel, Word and One Note.
- Confident and clear communicator.
- Self starter, able to work without routine supervision.
- Interest in flying and business operations.
- Evidence of analytical skills/data analysis.
PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate will be expected to undergo a Security Clearance Process, which will require 5 years uninterrupted residency in the UK prior to applying. This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live within a commutable distance.
