Tennis Head Coach
Posted 5 hours 48 minutes ago by Greenhouse Sports Ltd
Established in 2002, Greenhouse Sports charity is leading the fight for a future where young people are supported and empowered, whatever their challenges, through sport. We coach and mentor young people from deprived backgrounds because the crisis for children living in deprivation is real and it is urgent. Children from the poorest families are 3 times more likely to not participate in any extra-curricular activities compared to those from wealthier families and they lack many opportunities that are available to their wealthier peers. They are more likely to leave school with no qualifications, be excluded from school, get involved in crime and gang violence, and suffer from mental health issues.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a qualified, skilled Tennis Head Coach to lead one of our new programmes. The role will be based at Whitefield School and will include planning and delivering a comprehensive, high-quality coaching and mentoring programme. Our programmes typically include a combination of non-curricular breakfast, lunch, and after-school coaching sessions, one-to-one or small group sessions (where agreed with the school), and developing regular competitive opportunities for all players. You will also be required to deliver half-term and holiday camps during school holidays.
As a coach, you will work closely with the Impact Team to collect high-quality data to demonstrate the effectiveness of our work and to quantify the difference we make to our young people. Data is collected at designated times throughout the year and includes case studies, questionnaires, skills, and fitness testing. Our coaches also regularly review the young people's progress and set targets for their future development.
Greenhouse Sports is committed to Safeguarding & Child Protection, and you will ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. You will also maintain accurate records of all registered participants, staff, and volunteers at all planned sessions.
The Person
To be considered for this role, you must hold an LTA Tennis Coach Level 3 (or equivalent) coaching qualification and have experience of successfully delivering and managing top-quality tennis programmes for children and young people in a school, community, or sports club setting. You will demonstrate strong mentoring skills and experience, as well as being a confident and capable IT user with excellent administrative and organisational skills needed to effectively plan and manage the programme and capture all relevant data in a timely manner.
You will be highly passionate about the Greenhouse Sports mission, values, and beliefs, and about helping young people learn and develop.
All Greenhouse Sports employees are provided with comprehensive Continuous Professional Development support and are expected to fully commit to Greenhouse's Safeguarding & Child Protection policy.
Application Deadline: Friday 29 August at 23:59 hours.
Please note that applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Greenhouse Sports is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; therefore, applicants must be willing to undergo child protection training and screening, including an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check, and obtain satisfactory references from past employers.
Salary: £26,000-£30,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Experience required: LTA Tennis Coach Level 3 (or equivalent).
