Temporary Line Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for a Line Leader to join our Packing department. This position is ideal for an organised and proactive individual with strong leadership skills who can motivate a team, maintain high standards and ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
Reporting to the Production Manager, Shift Supervisor and Senior Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on your designated lines while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality and health and safety standards.
Key Duties- Leading and coordinating daily production activities to ensure output targets, quality standards and customer requirements are achieved.
- Monitoring health, safety, food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring correct PPE is worn and company procedures are followed at all times.
- Managing Critical Control Points (CCPs), production records and operational documentation to maintain compliance and traceability.
- Overseeing spiral freezer operations, temperatures, retention times and associated production equipment to ensure product quality standards are maintained.
- Supporting team performance through training, coaching and SOP delivery for both new and existing employees.
- Working closely with Quality, Maintenance and Production teams to resolve issues, improve efficiencies and minimise downtime.
- Monitoring product rotation, raw material use-by dates, labelling accuracy and changeover activities to maintain operational excellence.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, reporting daily KPIs and supporting effective shift handovers and communication across departments.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing, production or supervisory environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Good understanding of food safety, quality and health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Confident using production systems, completing documentation and managing operational records.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Organised and able to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
