Terms of Employment: 180 Days (student days), no more than 27.5 hours per week, per their lane in the Classified Handbook, paid for out of the Federal Part B Special Education Grant
SUMMARYTo assist special education students with performing in the classroom to their maximal potential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide services directly to students within the school setting as directed by the student's IEP.
- Provide consultation to teachers regarding students' IEP services in public and non-public school settings.
- Determine equipment needs for positioning or sensory processing within the classroom.
- Meet with Occupational Therapist on a regular basis for supervision and to discuss caseload issues/concerns.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with school personnel, students and parents.
- Promote good public relations for the School Corporation and community.
- Teach by example by exemplifying good moral conduct.
- Demonstrates professional growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's degree
- COTA License
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, correspondences, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to apply general mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.
