As our business continues to grow, we're expanding our customer facing Technical team based at our Barway site. We're looking for two proactive Technologists who are passionate about protecting our customers, understanding their requirements, and ensuring every product leaving our site delivers on our promise.
These newly created roles offer an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on part in strengthening customer relationships, maintaining technical compliance, and driving continuous improvement across our processes. You'll work closely with internal teams and retail customers alike, responding to customer needs supporting product & packaging development and contributing to sustainability initiatives that matter to both our business and our customers.
What You'll DoAs a key member of the Technical Team, you will:
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with retail customers, acting as a trusted technical partner and first point of contact for technical matters.
- Manage customer technical requirements, ensuring specifications, policies, and standards are fully understood, implemented, and maintained across the site.
- Lead responses to customer technical queries, complaints, and risk assessments, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
- Work cross-functionally with Technical, QA, Operations, Process Development, Commercial, and Marketing teams to support product launches, packaging changes, and innovation projects.
- Ensure all customer-facing technical documentation is accurate, compliant, and up to date, including specifications, audit responses and risk assessments.
- Identify opportunities to improve product quality, process efficiency, and packaging performance, including more sustainable solutions.
- Analyse trends, customer feedback, and performance data to drive continuous improvement and reduce risk.
- Support ESG and sustainability initiatives, ensuring customer expectations and business objectives are aligned.
- Experience in a technical role within food, FMCG, retail, or supply chain is advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisational, and influencing skills.
- Ability to prioritise, manage multiple projects, and pay close attention to detail.
- Team player with a solution-oriented and proactive mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
