Overview

Technical Writer
Reporting line - Chief Product Officer
Location - London / Hybrid
Salary Range - £60-70,000 depending on level and experience plus bonus and benefits.

We are now looking for a Technical Writer to help us capture knowledge, document our systems, and empower our teams and clients through clear, engaging, and effective documentation and learning materials.

Responsibilities

Depending on your level and experience, the main responsibilities of the role are outlined below:

  • Create and maintain clear, concise, and engaging documentation for both internal and external audiences.
  • Interview key stakeholders and subject matter experts to extract and translate technical knowledge into accessible content.
  • Work closely with technical teams to understand our systems, architecture, and workflows.
  • Develop user guides and knowledge base content to help clients and users self-serve.
  • Create internal and external training materials - from structured guides to interactive sessions and visual content.
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, and version control practices.
  • Continuously improve the accessibility and impact of documentation across multiple media formats.
  • Collaborate with product and delivery teams to ensure documentation evolves alongside our products.
  • Support onboarding processes by producing training resources for new clients and team members.
  • Advocate for best practices in knowledge management across the organisation.
Job requirements

Required: Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience creating technical documentation and training materials, ideally in a SaaS or technology environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in plain English for different audiences.
  • Experience interviewing stakeholders and translating discussions into structured documentation.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone, accuracy, and structure.
  • Experience using documentation tools (e.g. Confluence, Microsoft Office, Markdown, or similar).
  • Familiarity with video or visual documentation formats (e.g. walkthroughs, diagrams, screencasts).
  • Understanding of software development or Salesforce ecosystems a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating across teams and disciplines.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills - able to balance multiple documentation streams.
  • Comfortable working in an agile, iterative environment.

Desirable

  • Experience producing documentation or training content for Salesforce or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Exposure to the insurance industry.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Miro, or video editing software.
  • Experience designing and delivering workshops or onboarding sessions.
  • Experience implementing or managing a documentation portal or knowledge base.
