Technical support engineer for polymers

Overview

Wanhua Chemical is a global leader in advanced materials and specialty chemicals. As a Chemist & Technical Support Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting our overseas business growth by contributing to technical development, product validation, and customer support. Reporting to the Director of Wanhua Barcelona Technical Center, you will collaborate with experienced polymer researchers, engineers, and sales managers to ensure efficient technical operations and business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sample Preparation & Property Evaluation: Operate injection molding machines to prepare sample bars/slices and ensure high sample quality.
2. Laboratory & Equipment Management: Oversee the daily operation and future expansion of the polymeric material evaluation platform.
3. Technical Support for Business Development: Assist in customer mold trials, sample validation, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth product adoption.
4. Training & Mentorship: Train new employees and interns in polymer sample preparation and property evaluation.
5. Reporting & Analysis: Generate professional reports on mold trials, sample validation, and material testing.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Polymers, Material Science, or related fields (coursework in Plastics/Injection Molding is a plus).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in injection molding.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Moldflow analysis is a plus.
• Lab Expertise: Understanding of chemical laboratory procedures, polymer testing, and safety protocols.
• Learning Ability: Strong eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Communication Skills: Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Travel: Willingness to travel for business ( 30%).
