The Company

Our client is a leading provider of residential energy efficiency and retrofit solutions across Ireland. Operating at the forefront of the sustainable construction sector, they deliver energy upgrade projects that improve home performance, reduce carbon emissions, and help homeowners access grant-supported retrofit schemes.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Architectural technician to join their team at their Ashbourne office.

The Role

As an architectural technician, you will play a key role in assessing residential properties, identifying energy improvement opportunities, and supporting the successful delivery of retrofit projects.

Working closely with homeowners, assessors, project managers, quantity surveyors, and delivery teams, you will use building performance data and specialist software to evaluate upgrade options, develop recommendations, and ensure projects are technically suitable and compliant with industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review BER assessments and residential property performance data
  • Assess potential retrofit and energy upgrade opportunities
  • Develop recommendations for energy efficiency improvements
  • Advise homeowners on suitable grant-supported upgrade solutions
  • Support compliance and documentation requirements for retrofit projects
  • Conduct online and telephone consultations with customers
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and upgrade recommendations
  • Coordinate project information with internal delivery teams
  • Support project handovers to Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors
  • Liaise with homeowners, BER assessors, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and compliance records
  • Assist in ensuring projects are ready for successful delivery
The Person

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within engineering, building services, construction, sustainability, energy management, or retrofit environments.

Candidates from related technical disciplines who are eager to develop a career in the energy efficiency sector are also encouraged to apply.

Ideal Background
  • Engineering, Building Services, Construction, BIM Technician or Architectural Technology qualification
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of residential construction methods and building fabric
  • Good technical problem-solving ability
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and reporting skills
  • Good IT and systems proficiency
  • Experience within BER, retrofit, sustainability, HVAC, or energy efficiency projects would be advantageous
