Tasks & Responsibilities

As a Technical Superintendent you work in a small and committed team and you are responsible for the technical condition of their fleet, the (preventive) maintenance and, if necessary, adapting the fleet to the customer's wishes.

You arrange that the legally prescribed inspections with classification bodies take place and that the fleet is maintained according to the (safety) standards, whereby the equipment certifications are fully done according to legal requirements.

To keep the fleet in top condition, you ensure that you know what maintenance is required for the fleet and when this should be planned.

Of course, you also always know when there are malfunctions that need to be fixed and you keep in touch with the crew and your colleagues about necessary adjustments to the fleet.

You coordinate the work that needs to be done with the shipyard and/or with subcontractors. You make budgets for this and afterwards you know exactly which (repair) work has taken place and when. You remain in control of the costs through reports and cost structures.

You also provide technical advice regarding investment and improvement proposals. If it is necessary to repair or inspect a unit on location, you do this.

Profile

You are able to process complex technical information, draw the right conclusion and act accordingly.

You also bring:

At least Associate degree (MBO) or Bachelor degree (HBO/HTS) work and thinking level and experience in shipbuilding or mechanical engineering, for example as a maritime officer or shipbuilder;

• Experience with the construction and maintenance of seagoing vessels;

• Knowledge of technical ship installations, hydraulics and electrical systems;

• You are used to negotiating with repair facilities and subcontractors;

• You are able to (in collaboration with your colleagues) create budgets for maintenance, repairs and adjustments and ensure that these budgets are not exceeded;

• You have a flexible attitude and are prepared to work outside normal working hours if necessary;

• You are eager to learn and keep yourself informed of the latest developments in legislation, regulations, technology and sustainability;

• Experience with DP (dynamic positioning) systems is a plus;

• Good command of the English language (Dutch is a big plus), both verbally and in writing;

Personal qualities

• You take initiative and can work well together;

• You plan your own work well and can monitor deadlines;

• You know how to distinguish between main issues and side issues and act accordingly;

• You like to get your hands dirty yourself.

Offer

• A challenging, new position within a dynamic and innovative organization in the maritime sector;

• Space and appreciation for new initiatives and ideas;

• A market-conform salary (max approximately €6K bpm) with matching employment conditions;

• The opportunity to contribute to impactful maritime projects worldwide;

• A flat organization with short communication lines;

• Working in a motivated and professional team with an informal working atmosphere.

Company

Our client designs, builds, repairs, converts and mobilizes vessels for the maritime sector, including offshore, renewable energy, maritime infrastructure and aquaculture.
