The role will report to the Safety, Risk & Compliance Manager. The Assistant Manager, Technical Services & Compliance plays a vital role in supporting the operational delivery of technical services and ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental legislation. This involves collaborating with internal stakeholders, external service providers, and the wider Workplace Services team to maintain a best-in-class workplace environment.

Supporting the Integrated Management System and oversee the maintenance and updating of associated policies and standard operating procedures.

Developing improvement initiatives to ensure continuous best in class delivery.

Technical Operations Support:

  • Assist in the management of the technical services supply chain, including performance monitoring, contract compliance, and service delivery.
  • Support the identification and implementation of cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
  • Contribute to the review and update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge articles.
  • Assist with the day-to-day supervision of technical service providers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Support budget management processes related to FM Operations.
  • Assist with project coordination and administrative tasks.

Compliance Support:

  • Supporting with the continuous review of the Integrated Management System to maintain compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and 50001.
  • Manage an annual internal audit schedule and conduct regular internal H&S audits, together with remedial actions resulting from those audits.
  • Manages Display Screen Equipment self-assessment program and process.
  • Ensure National Workplace Services BCP is maintained and support scenario training.
  • Working closely with the service partners QHSE team to monitor and maintain compliance via the Riskwise software.
  • Provide H&S compliance support to the Tier 2 supply chain.
  • Maintain Workplace Services link with diversity & inclusion networks.
  • Support Deloitte Business Security with annual assurance audits for all sites.
  • Assist with reporting and data analysis related to compliance performance.

  • Relevant experience in a corporate environment, preferably in facilities management, compliance, or a related field.
  • Experience with contract management and supplier relationships.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification.
  • Proven track record of formulating and implementing risk management strategies and operating practices.
  • Experience maintaining ISO accredited management system documentation and policy reviews.
  • Experience of conducting internal audits.
  • Experience of managing own workload with limited supervision and working under pressure to achieve deadlines.
  • Experience of writing, maintaining and monitoring business continuity plans.
