Backer Heatrod Ltd is seeking a proactive Technical Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine engineering expertise with commercial insight in a role that supports both internal and external sales activities.
About The CompanyBacker Heatrod is a leading UK manufacturer of electric heating elements and industrial heating solutions. As part of the global NIBE Element Group, we design and produce both standard and bespoke heating products for a wide range of industries including process, food & beverage, and chemical sectors.
What You'll Do- Act as a technical point of contact for customer enquiries and projects
- Deliver tailored proposals and presentations
- Identify customer needs and engineer bespoke solutions
- Develop new business and nurture existing relationships
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams
- Support product development and quality assurance
- Maintain accurate CRM records and produce sales reports
- Travel to customer sites across the UK (pool car provided)
- HNC or Degree in Engineering
- Experience in customer-facing sales roles
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projects
- Mechanical or Electrical engineering background
- Experience in lean manufacturing or 5S
- Knowledge of heating element industry
