The Role
As a Technical Engineer, you will take charge of defining, managing, and improving production processes for advanced aerospace components. You will assess customer specifications for technical feasibility, determine optimal machining sequences, and guide process validation steps like Tool Try Outs and First Article Inspections (FAI). Your role includes preparing documentation for production release, analysing deviations, and initiating continuous improvement efforts. You will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders while adhering to the strict standards of the aerospace domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate technical drawings and customer requests for feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance with aerospace standards.
- Develop and refine manufacturing routings for high-precision parts and assemblies.
- Coordinate and support Tool Try Outs, FAI (First Article Inspections), and validation processes according to aerospace quality requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, work instructions, and release packages for production.
- Analyse non-conformities (NCRs), determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN/Six Sigma), focusing on quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Act as a technical point of contact for production, quality, purchasing, customers, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations, customer-specific requirements, and engineering specifications across the product lifecycle.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical engineering role within the aerospace industry.
- A hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to juggle multiple engineering challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Fluency in both Dutch is appreciated and fluency in English is mandatory to navigate an international working environment.
