Job Description
Overview

We are looking for a creative Technical Author with an ability to create simple to understand schematics from complex systems, whilst showing their excellent attention to detail to day-to-day tasks.

The Technical Author will be working closely with a group of developers of a variety of projects to understand data flows, system integrations and project structure, along side these tasks and projects you will be showing the willingness to be self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure to deadlines.

The successful candidate will prove their excellent communication and interpersonal skills through their work by documenting their solutions and creating templates and visualisations for the cross functional teams to understand.

Job Title: Technical Author

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Liverpool City Centre, Hybrid working available

What you will be doing
  • Working closely with a group of developers on a variety of projects to understand data flows, system integrations, project structure
  • Specify the fundamental components of the solution
  • Document to a standard Software Architecture Template including creating visualisations
  • Detail Business rationale and how the solution address the need
  • Clearly describe key features, functions and limitations
  • Document the key design features and critical processes and 'need to know'; aspects, to agreed standards
What we are looking for
  • Use of Visio or other tools to prepare flowcharts, data flow system schematics
  • Experience with document versioning
  • Ability to work within a code environment to document key aspects of design or functionality
  • Ability to work with system architects and leads towards making pragmatic decisions on how to represent systems topologically
  • Ability to understand requirements and conceive good application solutions
  • Experience of GIT, Gitlab, Github etc.
  • Document versioning techniques / tyools
  • Experience of requirement gathering, analysis and specification
  • Understanding of backend to frontend development
  • Experience of build processes and technologies including CI/CD
  • Understanding of application architecture
  • Knowledge of the roles of different programming languages
  • Markdown, markdoc, asciidoc,.Mdx, Shpinx (docs as code)
