Job Title: Technical Architect (Integration, Data & AI)

Hours: Full time (40-hours per week)

Location: Colchester based (3 days per week in the office)

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of integration, API, pipeline, data, and AI-enabled solutions, with a strong focus on Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC). This role combines deep technical expertise with architectural leadership, people management, and consulting skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, lead and manage both UK and offshore delivery teams, and act as a trusted technical advisor in a client-facing consulting capacity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and own end-to-end technical architecture across integration, APIs, pipelines, data platforms, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Lead solution design using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable integrations.
  • Define API strategies and standards, including RESTful design, versioning, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Design and oversee data integration and data flow architectures, supporting analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
  • Architect and guide the use of AI and intelligent automation, such as:
    • AI-enhanced workflows and integrations
    • Data pipelines feeding AI/ML models
    • Consumption of AI services via APIs
  • Provide architectural leadership across CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and deployment strategies.
  • Translate business, functional, and non-functional requirements into clear technical architectures and roadmaps.
  • Act as a technical authority for delivery teams, providing guidance, reviews, and architectural governance.
  • Lead and mentor UK-based and offshore teams, ensuring consistent delivery quality and architectural alignment.
  • Operate in a consulting role, engaging with clients to present architectures, lead design workshops, and provide strategic technical advice.
  • Support pre sales and discovery activities, including solution design, estimation, and technical contributions to proposals.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance, and scalability requirements.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality architecture documentation, diagrams, and standards.
Experience Required
  • 8+ years of experience in software, integration, data, or solution architecture roles.
  • Strong hands on experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
  • Proven experience designing and delivering API led and integration based architectures.
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, data integration patterns, and data governance.
  • Experience working with or architecting AI enabled solutions, such as:
    • Integrating AI/ML services via APIs
    • Designing data pipelines for AI/analytics
    • Applying AI to automation, decisioning, or insight generation
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership of distributed delivery teams, including UK and offshore models.
  • Strong experience in a client facing or consulting environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OCI services, including OCI AI Services or other cloud based AI platforms.
  • Familiarity with event driven architectures and real time data processing.
  • Experience designing solutions that incorporate AI governance, ethics, and data privacy considerations.
  • Architecture or cloud certifications (OCI, TOGAF, or equivalent).
  • Experience in regulated or enterprise scale environments.
  • Exposure to pre sales, RFPs, and solution shaping.
Leadership & Consulting Capabilities
  • Strong technical leadership with the ability to influence at engineering, architecture, and executive levels.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and architects across geographies and cultures.
  • Ability to clearly articulate AI, data, and integration concepts to non technical stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic, outcome focused mindset balancing innovation with delivery.
