Working Pattern - Sunday to Thursday either 07:30 - 15:30 or 10:30 - 18:30 shift.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in The Broadmoor Hospital Portering & Waste Department for a Band 3 Team Leader, the successful candidate will join a highly innovative team delivering the high quality portering in an inpatient mental health setting.

This is an amazing position for someone who is driven to improve standards and the patient experience. You will be accountable for leading an in-house team of porters and will work as part of the team, being responsible for a team focused approach to the portering team on delivering all day to day operations.

The successful candidate will assist and support the existing team in working productively and safely to ensure that all operations are managed to the best possible standards with the resources available.

You will support the Portering and Waste Supervisor in providing an efficient, safe and user-based portering service in accordance with the standard operating procedures whilst adhering to all relevant Health & Safety, Hygiene, and COSHH legislation.

Main duties of the job

Lifting, handling, transportation and distribution of goods including food, mail, bedding, medication, newspapers, furniture and waste, and patient property

To support other departments as required

To ensure that confidential waste, prohibited items, confidential correspondence (e.g. medical records), valuables and financial items, medicines and medical items are handled correctly by Portering staff in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

To deputise for the Porter and Waste Supervisor in times of absence though days off, sickness or leave

To liaise with relevant departments to ensure maintenance of Portering vehicles and equipment, ensuring weekly audit and weekend daily check documentation is completed, and any damage/defects are reported to the Porter and Waste
