About the RoleAs a Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager in guiding a committed care team, ensuring consistently high standards of care. You will lead by example, providing clear direction, mentorship, and day to day support to staff, while also working directly with young people to promote their development and well being. Operating within the home's Therapeutic Model, you will work closely with in house therapeutic practitioners to ensure each young person receives consistent, tailored support that helps them achieve meaningful and lasting positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a team of residential support workers
- Ensure the home meets all regulatory and safeguarding standards
- Deliver high quality, child centred care in line with individual care plans
- Participate in the recruitment, training and supervision of staff
- Support young people with daily routines, emotional development and educational goals
- Respond to challenging behaviour with empathy, professionalism and consistency
- Keep accurate and up to date records, reports, and logs
- Provide on call support on a rota basis
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential childcare setting
- NVQ Level 3/4 in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent); Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work on a shift/rota basis (including weekends & sleep ins)
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding, child development and trauma informed care
- Resilience, compassion and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Full UK driving licence
- Salary: up to £36,159 per annum (includes sleep in allowance)
